Accounts Payable Support

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Support professional to join our established finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting all divisions across the group, ensuring supplier and trade invoices are accurately processed, compliant, and paid within agreed terms. You will work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, building strong working relationships while maintaining high standards of compliance and processing accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoice Processing: Process high-volume supplier and trade invoices accurately using OCR software (Traild).
- Compliance & ATO Standards: Review incoming documentation and reject invoices that do not meet ATO compliance requirements (including valid ABNs and tax invoice criteria).
- Inbox Management: Efficiently manage shared trades and supplier email inboxes, prioritizing urgent requests.
- Reconciliations & Follow-ups: Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations and follow up on overdue invoices or missing documentation.
- Stakeholder Support: Liaise directly with internal site/divisional teams and external vendors to resolve pricing, purchase order, and invoice queries promptly.
- Deadline Management: Ensure all end-of-month and weekly payment runs are accurate and completed within key operational deadlines.
About You
- Australian Industry Experience: Proven track record working in an Accounts Payable role within Australia, with a strong understanding of local commercial practices and ATO tax invoice requirements.
- System Knowledge: Previous experience with OCR software (Traild preferred) and modern ERP/accounting platforms.
- High Attention to Detail: Outstanding accuracy in data entry and statement reconciliation.
- Strong Communication: Confident, professional communicator capable of building positive relationships with trades, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Time Management: Able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to meet tight deadlines.
