Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks a General Accounting Manager - ATR to lead end-to-end accounting and financial close for assigned entities and markets. You will ensure timely, accurate reporting and strong balance-sheet governance, while complying with IFRS and local statutory requirements.

You will partner with regional Finance, auditors, and GBS teams to standardize, automate, and continuously improve ATR processes across the organization, developing a capable and resilient finance team.

Qualifications

• Lead end-to-end general accounting and financial close activities.
• Ensure IFRS and local statutory reporting compliance.
• Maintain strong internal controls and governance across ATR processes.
• Partner with regional Finance, auditors and GBS teams to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for assigned entities.
• Oversee general ledger, journals, accruals, intercompany, fixed assets and other period-end transactions.
• Review results, investigate high-risk items, and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Ensure financial statements and reporting packages comply with IFRS and local requirements.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations, account certifications, and supporting documentation.
• Review and approve entries and reconciliation outputs per governance.
• Use close tools (e.g., BlackLine) to reinforce close discipline and transparency.
• Maintain internal control environment and support audits.
• Identify control gaps and coordinate remediation with process owners.
• Maintain current process documentation and desktop procedures.
• Partner with Finance and other functions to resolve cross-functional issues.
• Manage service delivery against SLAs/KPIs and communicate risks proactively.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation across accounting and close processes.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals.
