Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the role

Furukawa Automotive Systems Lima Philippines, Inc is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to join our Finance department. This is a full-time position based in Lipa City, Batangas. As Accounting Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. This position is integral to maintaining the integrity of our financial records and supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions

• Review and verify financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and reports for management and stakeholders

• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all entries are recorded correctly and on schedule

• Train, mentor and supervise accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting procedures and best practices

• Manage accounts payable and receivable activities, including invoice processing and payment authorisation

• Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis

• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and inconsistencies in a timely manner

• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions

• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information

• Assist in implementing and maintaining accounting systems and controls to enhance efficiency and reduce errors

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and applicable accounting principles

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

• With at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership capacity

• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices and reporting standards

• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues

• Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger functions

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams

• Leadership qualities including the ability to motivate, train and develop accounting staff

• Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements in the Philippines is advantageous

• Familiarity with automotive or manufacturing industry accounting practices is a plus
