The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, has 5+ years of accounting experience with 2+ in supervision, and shows solid GAAP knowledge and Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the role

FAXCABLE INC. is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our Finance team in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reporting processes. As Accounting Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, supervise a team of accounting staff, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role is essential to maintaining the financial health of the organization and supporting strategic decision-making across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily activities of the accounting team, including staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development
• Oversee the preparation and review of general ledger entries, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Review and approve accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies
• Monitor month-end and year-end closing procedures, coordinating with team members to meet established deadlines
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and schedules for accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
• Manage bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies or unusual transactions
• Maintain accounting records and ensure proper filing and documentation systems are in place
• Liaise with external auditors and prepare necessary documentation for audit purposes
• Identify process improvements and implement controls to enhance operational efficiency
• Train and mentor accounting staff on accounting procedures, systems, and best practices

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and accounting software systems
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team
• Knowledge of tax compliance and regulatory requirements in the Philippines
• Ability to work independently and make sound judgements while adhering to company policies
