Job summary

Stretch Distribution Inc. in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila, seeks an Accounting Supervisor to lead our finance team and ensure accurate financial reporting.

This full-time role reports to the Accounting Manager and focuses on strong controls, timely closing, and compliance. You will supervise daily accounting activities, oversee GL reconciliation, manage payables/receivables, and mentor staff while collaborating with other departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in financial accounting and reporting in a supervisory role.
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience leading a team and improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting team activities and ensure timely, accurate transactions.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our finance team in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that offers a strategic opportunity to oversee accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting processes. As Accounting Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining robust financial controls, managing a team of accounting professionals, and supporting the organization's commitment to financial excellence and compliance. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and is essential to the smooth operation of our accounting department.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily activities of the accounting team, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner

• Oversee the preparation and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness

• Review and validate financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies

• Process and verify accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, managing vendor and customer relationships

• Prepare month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations

• Maintain and update accounting records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements

• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function

• Assist in the audit process by preparing required documentation and providing support to external auditors

• Train and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting policies, procedures, and best practices

• Monitor and control the accounting department budget and resource allocation

• Liaise with other departments to resolve accounting-related queries and ensure timely financial information delivery

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial accounting and reporting within a supervisory or team leadership capacity

• Strong proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Excel and financial reporting tools

• Comprehensive knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, tax regulations, and regulatory compliance requirements

• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent understanding of the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end closing procedures

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments

• Proactive problem-solving mindset with strong organizational and time management capabilities

• Experience in the distribution or logistics industry is advantageous
