Pharmacare is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, reporting, and tax compliance. You will supervise staff, review journal entries, manage GL, AR/AP, and bank reconciliations, and prepare periodic financial reports.
You'll analyze variances, assist in budgeting and forecasting, monitor tax deadlines, and provide insights to support management decisions, while maintaining strong internal controls
The Accounting Supervisor oversees day-to-day accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, reporting, and compliance with accounting and tax requirements.
A. Financial Operations & Accounting
Supervise day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
Review and monitor journal entries and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
Oversee general ledger management and account reconciliations.
Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
Monitor compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
B. Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
Oversee accounts receivable transactions and monitoring of outstanding balances.
Supervise accounts payable processing and ensure timely recording and settlement of obligations.
Review supporting documents and ensure proper account classification.
Monitor aging reports and coordinate with concerned departments regarding outstanding accounts.
C. Bank Reconciliation & Account Monitoring
Review and oversee regular bank reconciliations.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank records and accounting records.
Monitor cash and account balances and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
Maintain proper documentation for reconciliations and adjustments.
D. Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and review periodic financial reports and accounting schedules.
Analyze financial data, account balances, and variances.
Provide insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis activities.
Ensure timely submission of accurate financial reports.
E. Tax Compliance
Monitor accounting records and transactions to support tax compliance.
Assist in the preparation and submission of required tax returns and reports.
Ensure proper documentation and schedules are maintained for tax compliance.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders regarding tax-related requirements.
Monitor tax deadlines and ensure timely compliance with applicable regulations.
F. Team Supervision & Process Improvement
Supervise, guide, and review the work of accounting staff.
Provide technical guidance on accounting transactions and processes.
Monitor team performance and ensure timely completion of accounting deliverables.
Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen accounting controls and efficiency.
Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules and documentation.
G. Other Responsibilities
Perform other finance and accounting-related duties as assigned.
And any duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification is an advantage but not required.
Work Experience
2-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial operations.
Supervisory or team-lead experience is preferred.
Experience handling journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial operations.
Proficient in journal entries, ledger management, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Knowledge of tax compliance and applicable accounting requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to supervise a team and manage multiple deadlines.
