Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking an Accounting Sr. Specialist to maintain accurate financial records, prepare management reports, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will perform manual journal vouchers, reconciliations, and closing procedures, collaborating with the Finance group in Cebu City. This senior role requires a BS Accountancy or Management Accounting and at least 3 years of accounting/financial reporting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in BS Accountancy or Management Accounting.
• At least 3 years of experience in the field of Accounting / Financial Reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manual journal vouchers for accruals, provisions, deferrals, reversals, reclassifications, and adjustments with supporting documents.
• Examine, review, and reconcile transactions against book records; submit reconciliation reports with proposed adjusting entries.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve discrepancies and propose corrective measures.
• Perform closing procedures based on Oracle processes and company policies.
• Monitor affiliate balances and ensure proper recording and timely billings.
• Prepare and submit requirements for internal and regulatory audits.
• Prepare Annual Audited Financial Statements and GIS submissions to SEC.
• Prepare monthly management reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and variance analysis.
• Generate management reports and presentations for EXCOM and Board meetings.
• Prepare financial projections for budgeting, strategic planning, and debt sizing.

As Sr. Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing insightful management reports, and ensuring compliance with all finance-related regulatory requirements. This role encompasses a wide range of accounting tasks, from day-to-day bookkeeping to the preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings . You will work closely with AP DU Distribution Finance Group to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Financial Operations
  • Prepare manual journal vouchers for any accruals, provisions, deferrals, reversals, reclassifications, and adjustments needed with proper and valid supporting documents
  • Examine, review, and reconcile transactions against book records. Validates the nature of any reconciling items. Submit reconciliation report with proposed adjusting entries based on the agreed deadline.
  • Investigate any discrepancy, if necessary, coordinate with concerned departments for the cause of the discrepancy and initiates some recommendations to eliminate reconciling items.
  • Perform closing procedures based on Oracle processes and in compliance with company policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor and reconcile the account balances of affiliates and ensure that these are properly recorded and billings are promptly collected.
  • Handles the preparation and submission of requirements for internal and other regulatory audits
  • Handles the preparation and submission of Annual Audited Financial Statements and other related requirements such as GIS submission to SEC, etc.
• Financial Planning and Reporting
  • Prepares monthly comparative management reports (profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements)
  • Review and interpret financial information/details for variance reporting and financial analysis
  • Generate management reports and presentation materials for monthly EXCOM and Board meetings
  • Handle the preparation of financial projections for annual budgeting, strategic planning, and debt-sizing purposes
  • Handle the preparation of rolling and thinking forecasts to reflect changing conditions of the business
