Job summary

SM Retail Inc is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead planning, budgeting and forecasting across business units. You will cascade targets, align plans with management expectations, and finalize presentation packs with insightful commentary.

You will monitor performance against plans, drive cost control, support multi‑dimensional analyses for strategic decisions, and ensure compliance in statutory reporting, tax optimization and audits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or any business-related field; professional certifications are an advantage.
At least 5 years of working experience in retail or a related field.

Responsibilities

Ensure budget targets and guidelines are cascaded to the assigned BUs.
Collaborate with BU leadership to prepare plans, budgets, forecasts and provide insights.
Identify and review funding requirements for endorsement to RA Cluster Controller and BU heads.
Track performance vs plans and analyze reports and market benchmarks.
Drive cost control by understanding cost drivers and optimizing spend.
Support BU in timely, strategic decisions through multi-dimensional analyses.
Sign-off statutory, regulatory, and group reporting.
Work with Tax teams to optimize revenue/spend tax position and minimize risks.
Communicate and monitor compliance to Finance & Accounting policies across BUs.
Ensure management of financial risk in line with company and group policies.
Manage internal and external financial and tax audits.
