Job summary

SM Retail Inc. is seeking a Finance Manager in Metro Manila to oversee budgeting, planning, and financial reporting across business units.

The role requires collaboration with BU leadership to prepare plans, budgets, and forecasts, and to present insights for management decisions. The candidate will track performance against plans, drive cost containment, and ensure compliant statutory and group reporting, while coordinating with Tax for optimized positions and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or any business-related course required; professional certifications such as CPA/CFA/CMA/CIMA are an advantage.
• With at least 5 years working experience in retail or related field.

Responsibilities

• Ensure budget targets are cascaded to the assigned BU.
• Lead plans/budgets/forecasts with BU leadership and finalize packs with insights.
• Review funding requirements for endorsement to RA Cluster Controller and BU heads.
• Track performance vs plans and forecasts; analyze and draw insights from reports.
• Drive cost controllership and optimize spend across units.
• Support BU with multi-dimensional analysis for strategic decisions (store openings/closures, capex, new channels).
• Sign-off statutory, regulatory reporting and group reporting.
• Work with Tax teams to optimize tax position and minimize risks.
• Facilitate communication of Finance and Accounting policies across BUs.
• Manage internal and external financial and tax audits.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or any business-related course
