Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and subsidiary ledgers in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, payments and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies or outstanding items.
• Support the audit process by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Maintain organised and secure financial records, ensuring compliance with data protection and retention requirements.
• Assist with tax compliance matters and the preparation of tax-related documentation.
• Support month-end and year-end close procedures, including accruals, prepayments and adjusting entries.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial queries and provide accurate information for business operations.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join BFG International Company Ltd in our Mariveles Bataan office on a full-time basis. This role is central to maintaining the financial integrity and accuracy of our organisation, ensuring that all accounting records, financial statements and reporting obligations meet the highest standards of compliance and professionalism. As an Accountant, you will play a vital part in supporting the financial health of the company and enabling informed business decisions through accurate, timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and subsidiary ledgers in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles

What we're looking for

Qualification in accounting or finance, such as a bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related field, or relevant accounting certification (ACCA, CPA or equivalent)

Proven experience working as an Accountant or in a similar accounting role, with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience

Strong proficiency in accounting software and systems; experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is highly desirable

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools

Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and errors

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines

Reliable and professional demeanour with a commitment to confidentiality and data security

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly

Willingness to learn and stay updated with accounting practices and regulatory requirements

Experience in financial accounting and reporting, with familiarity with month-end and year-end close processes
