Job summary

Ascendion in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila seeks an Accounting Specialist to join our team full-time. You will provide critical accounting support for banking and financial services operations, maintain accurate records, and ensure regulatory compliance, working closely with relationship managers.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, CPC/CPA preferred, 2–3 years in accounting, strong Excel and accounting software skills, and fluent English with high integrity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is preferred.
• 2–3 years' experience in accounting or financial services; banking/relationship mgmt experience advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; able to work with financial systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial records and reporting.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication; able to explain financial information clearly.
• Ability to collaborate within a team and support relationship management activities.
• Proficiency in English; Filipino language skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile financial records in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Process invoicing, payments, and account reconciliations for multiple accounts.
• Prepare financial reports to support management decisions and client communications.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing, incl. journal entries.
• Provide accounting support to relationship managers and account teams.
• Monitor account activity and escalate discrepancies or irregularities.
• Collaborate with internal departments for timely financial documentation.
• Maintain detailed records in line with audit requirements.
• Support audit activities with required financial documentation.

About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for providing critical accounting support and expertise to our banking and financial services operations. The Accounting Specialist will play a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting relationship management activities, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

• Prepare financial reports and statements to support management decision-making and client communications
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Provide accounting support to relationship managers and account teams, addressing client queries and providing account analysis
• Monitor account activity and identify discrepancies or irregularities, escalating issues appropriately
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate financial documentation and reporting
• Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with organisational policies and audit requirements
• Support audit activities and provide required financial documentation to internal and external auditors
• Assist with special accounting projects and ad hoc financial analysis as requested

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional accounting certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent qualification is preferred
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in accounting or financial services, with experience in banking or relationship management environments being advantageous
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work effectively with financial systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
