As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and profitably growing a portfolio of major Departmental and Mass Merch accounts across Mexico. You will own commercial performance across revenue, margin, distribution, and market share while building strong, long-term customer relationships. The role combines strategic account planning with hands‑on commercial execution, including pricing, promotions, forecasting, merchandising, and negotiations. You will lead Joint Business Plans and coordinate cross‑functional teams to turn customer and market insights into measurable growth. Acting as the voice of the customer internally, you will influence Marketing, Trade Marketing, Product, Demand Planning, and other teams. This is a collaborative, fast‑paced environment where analytical thinking, commercial judgment, and entrepreneurial energy are highly valued. The role also offers opportunities to use digital analytics and AI tools to improve forecasting and commercial effectiveness.

Accountabilities
  • Drive profitable sales and market‑share growth in line with commercial plans, revenue objectives, margin targets, and distribution goals.
  • Define and execute growth strategies for Departmental and Mass Merch accounts across Mexico, identifying opportunities across customers, formats, and product categories.
  • Build and execute annual Joint Business Plans with key retail partners, establishing targets, initiatives, resources, and measurable KPIs.
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned customers, managing day‑to‑day business operations and maintaining strong relationships across customer organisations.
  • Develop productive relationships with customer management and internal cross‑functional teams, aligning priorities and ensuring effective execution.
  • Negotiate contracts, commercial terms, concessions, and commitments while protecting business objectives and ensuring agreed metrics and contract values are delivered.
  • Monitor and manage pricing, portfolio, positioning, promotions, merchandising, new product acceptance, and distribution in alignment with the broader omnichannel strategy.
  • Analyse sales forecasts and commercial performance, including profitability, rate of sale, promotional effectiveness, and customer investment.
  • Partner with Demand Planning on customer forecasts for new products, initiatives, and annual brand plans.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of market conditions, competitive activity, retailer strategies, pricing, promotions, innovation, and consumer trends to inform account decisions and recommendations.
  • Act as the internal voice of the customer, sharing shopper, market, competitive, and retailer insights with Marketing, Trade Marketing, Product, and other relevant teams.
  • Coordinate with colleagues and stakeholders across different regions to share and implement best practices in sales, relationship management, reporting, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Identify and respond to competitor activity across pricing, portfolio, promotions, displays, and innovation with appropriate tactical and strategic actions.
  • Promote the use of digital, analytics, and AI tools to improve forecasting, segmentation, decision‑making, and overall commercial effectiveness.
  • Ensure clear, timely communication across stakeholders while managing multiple accounts, projects, timelines, and priorities simultaneously.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial roles, particularly Account Management or National Account Management.
  • Proven experience managing Mass Merch and Departmental accounts in Mexico, ideally with retailers such as Palacio de Hierro, Suburbia, Sears, Chedraui, DSW, La Comer, Calimax, or Coppel.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with senior management and decision‑makers across national accounts and internal cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities, with experience managing account profitability, commercial investments, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic account plans and Joint Business Plans.
  • Strong understanding of omnichannel commercial strategies and consumer‑product environments; marketing or product‑management experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven negotiation skills, including the ability to balance commercial objectives, customer needs, contract terms, and business profitability.
  • Strong market and competitive analysis skills, with the ability to turn insights into actionable commercial strategies.
  • Knowledge and practical use of AI and digital tools to improve productivity, forecasting, segmentation, and commercial decision‑making.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
