Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Network Rapid Response Engineer to support L1 operations of the Maersk estate, available 24/7/365. You will install, monitor, test, maintain and troubleshoot integrated technologies to keep services running smoothly.

You will analyze alerts from routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and proxies, and engage with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, optimize performance and ensure reliable user experience across WAN/LAN/WLAN and perimeter networks.

Qualifications

Experience with event logging and network monitoring tools.
Deep understanding of the OSI model.
Solid knowledge of TCP/IP.
Experience with packet captures and analysis using Wireshark.
Firewall experience with Cisco ASA or Checkpoint.
Knowledge of L2/L3 protocols and essential networking concepts.
Basic scripting and regex skills.

Responsibilities

Monitor alerts for routers, switches, firewalls, APs, load balancers and proxies.
Troubleshoot, escalate or remediate network incidents promptly.
Maintain visibility and health of Maersk network estate.
Collaborate with engineering to optimize performance and user experience.
Operate WAN, LAN, WLAN, and perimeter services; assess business impact before changes.
Respond to incidents per established diagnosis, resolution and documentation procedures.
Develop and implement infrastructure automation with the team.
Perform daily checks to ensure critical systems are operational.
Apply ITIL incident management and adhere to KPIs and SOPs.
