Coronis Health Philippines is seeking an Inpatient Coder to translate hospital patient records into ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes for accurate billing and data integrity.

You will review charts, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure compliance with CMS and Joint Commission standards while collaborating with clinicians and participating in coding audits.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing Medical Records: Inpatient Coders analyze patients’ charts and medical records to gather relevant information regarding diagnoses, procedures, and treatments.
• Assigning Codes: They utilize coding systems such as ICD-10-CM (for diagnoses) and CPT/HCPCS (for procedures) to assign accurate codes to services provided during a patient’s hospital stay.
• Ensuring Compliance: Inpatient Coders ensure that coding practices adhere to legal and regulatory standards, including guidelines from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission.
• Communicating with Healthcare Professionals: They often collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel to clarify information and receive additional documentation if needed.
• Auditing and Quality Control: Some Inpatient Coders may be involved in auditing the coding for quality assurance, ensuring that the codes reflect the documentation accurately and are compliant with policies.
