Job summary

Serka Contracting LLC in Muscat seeks a full-time on-site Technical Office Engineer – Cost Controller to prepare and review project cost estimates and budgets, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and company standards.

You will coordinate with engineering, procurement and site teams to track quantities, analyze BOQs, verify drawings, and support claims, variations and forecasting, while maintaining organized documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Electrical) or related field.
• Experience in EPC or construction projects, especially cost control.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings and contract documents.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and cost-control software.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Technical Office Engineer – Cost Controller role based in Muscat. The role involves preparing, reviewing, and updating cost estimates and budgets for ongoing projects, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and company standards. The Technical Office Engineer – Cost Controller will coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site teams to validate quantities, track project progress, and monitor financial performance. Responsibilities include analyzing BOQs, verifying shop drawings for quantities and compliance, preparing cost reports, supporting quantity surveying activities, and assisting in claims, variations, and forecasting. The role also requires maintaining organized documentation, using relevant software tools, and contributing to continuous improvement of cost control processes.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Shop Drawings and BOQ analysis for cost estimation and quantity validation.
• Relevant background in Civil Engineering for structural and infrastructure works.
• Relevant background in Electrical Engineering for building services and systems coordination.
• Practical experience in Quantity Surveying for measurement, valuation, and cost control.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Electrical), Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Experience in EPC or construction projects, preferably in cost control or technical office roles.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and cost control/quantity surveying software (e.g., ERP or QS tools).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and contract documents, with strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
