Job Overview
The Cost Control & Planning Engineerwill support the client’s project management team by monitoring projectschedules, controlling costs, and ensuring alignment between progress, budget,and contractual requirements. The role involves detailed planning, reporting,and analysis to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget..
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review,and maintain the project schedule (baseline and updates)
- Monitor projectprogress and compare against planned timelines
- Perform criticalpath analysis and identify potential delays
- Prepare andupdate progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Track projectcosts, commitments, and expenditures
- Analyze costvariances and recommend corrective actions
- Reviewcontractors’ schedules, progress reports, and payment applications
- Supportevaluation of claims, variations, and extensions of time (EOT)
- Coordinate withproject team, contractors, and consultants on planning issues
- Ensureintegration between cost control and project scheduling
- Assist in riskanalysis and forecasting (time and cost impact)
- Maintain properrecords of project performance data
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’sdegree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 5–8years of experience in planning and cost control for construction projects
- Experience inindustrial or factory construction projects is preferred
- Strong knowledgeof planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Proficiency inMicrosoft Excel (advanced level preferred)
- Familiarity withcost control systems and reporting methods
- Experienceworking in the Middle East is an advantage
- Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluent inEnglish (spoken and written)
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge ofcontract conditions (e.g., FIDIC Contracts)
- Experience indelay analysis methods (EOT, claims support)
- Ability to workwith large data sets and generate clear reports
- Strongcommunication and coordination skills
