Job summary

gu-recruitment is seeking a seasoned project leader to head major mining projects, from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with strategy and long-term value.

The role oversees multidisciplinary teams, manages budgets and schedules, and reports directly to the CEO, while advancing governance and risk controls.

A Bachelor’s in engineering and 15+ years in project management within mining/industrial settings are required; a Master’s in management or Mineral Economics is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• Master’s in management or Mineral Economics preferred.
• At least 15 years of progressive project management experience in mining/industrial projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project lifecycles from concept to execution with adherence to budgets and timelines.
• Develop and implement advanced project management systems for tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with design, construction, and operations teams to address project-specific challenges.
• Foster relationships with government entities, investors, contractors, and local communities.
• Coach and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team and promote an ethical culture.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across all project stages and ensure safety compliance.
• Apply lessons learned to refine strategies and stay ahead of industry trends.
