Job summary

Six Construct is searching for an experienced Storekeeper to manage site store activities in Oman. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient material handling, inventory accuracy, and compliance with HSE standards.

The ideal candidate should have a diploma in Logistics or related fields, and at least five years of storekeeping experience in the construction industry. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, receiving and issuing materials, and supporting project compliance.

Job Purpose

The Storekeeper is responsible for managing all site store activities, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control and issuance of materials, tools and equipment required for project execution. The role ensures inventory accuracy, material availability, compliance with company procedures and adherence to HSE and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory Control – Maintain accurate inventory records for all materials, consumables, tools and equipment. Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment requests when required. Conduct periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliations. Ensure proper tracking of material movements and inventory transactions.
• Receiving and Issuing Materials – Receive materials delivered to site and verify quantities against purchase orders and delivery notes. Inspect received materials for quality specifications and potential damages. Coordinate with procurement and site teams regarding discrepancies or non‑conforming materials. Issue materials to authorized personnel and maintain proper documentation.
• Storage Management – Ensure proper storage identification and preservation of materials in accordance with company procedures and manufacturer recommendations. Maintain a clean, organized and secure store environment. Implement suitable storage practices to prevent damage, loss or deterioration of materials.
• Documentation and Reporting – Maintain all store‑related records including goods receipt notes, material issue vouchers, stock registers and inventory reports. Update inventory records and ERP systems in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare periodic inventory and stock movement reports for management review. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and inventory records.
• HSE and Compliance – Comply with BESIX Group HSE policies, procedures and project requirements. Ensure safe handling, storage and disposal of materials where applicable. Maintain housekeeping standards within the warehouse and storage areas. Promote a culture of safety, quality and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Education – Diploma or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree is considered an advantage.
• Experience – Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in storekeeping, warehouse operations, or inventory management within the construction industry. Experience working on large‑scale construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects is preferred.
• Technical Competencies – Good knowledge of storekeeping procedures, inventory control and warehouse operations. Familiarity with construction materials, equipment and tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience using ERP systems and inventory management software.
• Behavioural Competencies – Strong organizational and planning skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Effective communication and coordination skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Team player with a proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.
• Flexibility and Mobility – Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to support the operational needs of the business across different projects and locations. Willing to be assigned, transferred or mobilized to other BESIX projects within the region based on project requirements and business priorities. Able to work in diverse project environments and support site operations as required. Maintains a proactive and collaborative approach when transitioning between projects, teams and locations.
