Pure planet in Muscat seeks a Store Keeper to manage inventory, coordinate purchasing, and oversee receiving, storage, and stock issuance in a food-and-beverage environment.

Job Description

Department: Supply Chain / Operations. Reports To: Operations Manager / Procurement Manager.

Position Summary: The Store Keeper is responsible for the efficient management of all inventory, purchasing coordination, receiving, storage, stock issuance, and logistics activities. The role ensures accurate inventory records, maintains optimum stock levels, supports daily operations, and guarantees that all food, beverage, bakery, pastry, packaging, and operational supplies are properly controlled in accordance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Manage daily receiving, storage, issuing, and transfer of all inventory items. Monitor stock levels and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts. Perform stock reconciliation and investigate inventory discrepancies. Ensure First In First Out (FIFO) and First Expired First Out (FEFO) are implemented. Monitor expiry dates and damaged products. Maintain organized storage areas following food safety and HACCP standards.
  • Purchasing Support: Prepare Purchase Requests based on inventory requirements. Coordinate with approved suppliers regarding deliveries. Compare supplier quotations when required. Follow up pending purchase orders. Ensure all received items match approved Purchase Orders and Delivery Notes.
  • Receiving & Quality Control: Inspect all incoming goods for Quantity, Quality, Expiry dates, Packaging condition, Product specifications. Reject non-conforming items. Ensure proper documentation during receiving.
  • Stock Issuance & Transfers: Process daily stock requisitions from Coffee Bar, Kitchen, Bakery, Pastry, Front of House. Prepare internal stock transfers between branches or departments. Maintain accurate transfer documentation. Coordinate logistics for stock movement.
  • Warehouse Management: Maintain clean, organized, and properly labeled storage areas. Separate dry, chilled, frozen, and chemical storage. Monitor storage temperatures where applicable. Ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Inventory System Management: Update inventory transactions accurately and on time. Record Goods Receiving, Stock Issuance, Stock Transfers, Purchase Orders, Inventory Adjustments, Stock Returns. Generate inventory and stock movement reports.
  • Logistics Support: Drive company vehicle when required for Supplier collection, Stock transfers, Emergency purchasing, Inter-branch deliveries. Ensure safe transportation of products. Maintain delivery records.
  • Supplier Coordination: Maintain professional relationships with suppliers. Coordinate delivery schedules. Report supplier issues including shortages, delays, or quality concerns. Assist Procurement in supplier performance evaluation.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with Company SOPs, Food Safety Standards, HACCP Requirements, Inventory Control Procedures, Health & Safety Regulations.
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Hospitality Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Store Keeper, Inventory Controller, or Warehouse Assistant in the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Experience in Specialty Coffee Shop, Restaurant, Bakery, Pastry, Café Operations.
Mandatory Knowledge & Skills
  • Food & Beverage Knowledge: good knowledge of Coffee beans and beverages, Milk and dairy products, Syrups and sauces, Bakery ingredients, Pastry ingredients, Breakfast ingredients, Frozen products, Dry goods, Packaging materials, Cleaning chemicals, Disposable items, Operational consumables.
  • Product storage requirements: Ambient, Chilled, Frozen, Dry storage.
  • Inventory & Warehouse Management: Stock Control, Cycle Counting, Physical Inventory, FIFO / FEFO, Stock Reconciliation, Inventory Valuation, Warehouse Organization, Receiving Procedures, Stock Transfers.
  • Purchasing Knowledge: Purchase Requests (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), Goods Receiving Notes (GRN), Supplier Management, Vendor Coordination, Cost Control, Invoice Verification.
  • Systems Knowledge (Mandatory): ERP Systems (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.), Inventory Management Systems, POS Backend Systems, Restaurant Management Systems, Barcode Scanning Systems, Digital Inventory Platforms.
  • Data Handling: Generate inventory reports, Process stock transfers, Receive purchase orders, Manage stock adjustments, Perform stock reconciliation, Extract inventory data.
  • Microsoft Office (Advanced): Microsoft Excel (Advanced – Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, inventory tracking, reporting, data analysis), Microsoft Word – Documentation, reports, SOPs, Microsoft Outlook – Email communication, Microsoft PowerPoint – Basic presentations.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driving license (Mandatory). willing to obtain a driving license with company sponsorship subject to management approval.
  • Willing to drive company vehicles for stock transfers, supplier collections, and logistics support.
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
  • Physically fit to lift and move inventory when required.
