Job summary

Nafal Contracting in Oman is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead tendering, estimation and contract administration for diverse projects. You will analyze drawings, prepare BOQs, and manage cost plans to meet deadlines.

The role requires 10–15 years GCC/Oman experience, a Civil Engineering degree, and QS certification as an advantage. You'll collaborate with planning, procurement, engineering, and finance to submit compliant commercial and technical bids.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
  • QS certification is an added advantage.
  • 10–15 years experience with GCC, Oman preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project drawings, specs to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Prepare BOQs per standard methods (POMI, CESMM, NRM).
  • Administer contracts per FIDIC and standard conditions.
  • Develop and manage cost plans and tender submissions within deadlines.
  • Identify and quantify risks and opportunities in tenders.
  • Prepare RFQs, evaluate quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Compile material take-offs and cost data for labour, equipment, Subcontract and materials.
  • Prepare tender cost summaries and pricing schedules.
  • Submit Commercial and Technical documents with internal coordination.
  • Maintain and update a cost database for materials, labour and equipment.
  • Perform rate analysis for labour, materials, equipment.
  • Support pricing strategies aligned with commercial objectives.
  • Benchmark estimates against historical data and market trends.
  • Prepare tender clarifications and coordinate with client reps.
  • Ensure all tender submissions comply with legal, contractual and client requirements.
  • Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives pre-contract.
  • Liaise with finance for tender bonds.
  • Collaborate with Jr.QS, Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Operations.
  • Attend tender meetings, site visits and pre-bid conferences.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and JV partners when required.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Tendering & Estimation
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) in accordance with standard methods of measurement (e.g., POMI, CESMM, NRM).
  • Administer contracts in accordance with the conditions of contract (e.g., FIDIC, Standard Conditions of Contract in Building and Civil Engineering works, etc.).
  • Develop and manage cost plans and tender submissions within deadlines.
  • Identify and quantify risks and opportunities in tenders.
  • Prepare and submit RFQs to subcontractors and suppliers; evaluate quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Compile material take-offs and cost data for labor, equipment, Subcontract and materials.
  • Prepare tender cost summaries, pricing schedules, and other required documentation.
  • Prepare and Submit Commercial and Technical submission documents with in deadline in coordination with Internal departments such as Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Operations, Finance and HR.
  • Maintain and update a cost database for materials, labour, and equipment.
Commercial Analysis
  • Perform rate analysis for labour, materials, and equipment.
  • Support pricing strategies that align with the companys commercial objectives.
  • Benchmark estimates against historical data and market trends.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Prepare tender clarifications, technical and commercial queries, and coordinate with client representatives.
  • Ensure all tender submissions comply with legal, contractual, and client requirements.
  • Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives during the pre-contract stage.
  • Laise with finance team for obtain Tender bond.
Coordination & Communication
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Jr.QS, Planning, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Attend tender meetings, site visits, and pre-bid conferences.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and JV partners when required.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Certification in Quantity Surveying is an added advantage.
Experience

10 to 15 Years- Minimum 8 Years GCC Experience ( Oman Experience is Prefer)

R.O 1000 to 1250 ( All Inclusive + Fuel Card)
