Job summary

Nafal Contracting & Trading Company seeks a Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial aspects of civil projects in Muscat. You will review BOQ specs, monitor costs, prepare monthly interim payment applications, and certify quantities for billing on site.

Required 5–8 years in Quantity Surveying for civil construction, with 2–3 years post-tender commercial management and Gulf experience preferred. Strong cost control and contracts experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Certification in Quantity Surveying is an added advantage; 5–8 years of experience in Quantity Surveying for civil construction projects.
• Minimum 2–3 years of post-tender commercial management experience.
• Experience in building, infrastructure, industrial, or MEP-related civil projects is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Gulf experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand the awarded contract BOQ specifications drawings and commercial terms.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify cost variances.
• Prepare and submit monthly client interim payment applications.
• Measure work completed on-site and certify quantities for billing purposes.
• Verify and process subcontractor bills supplier invoices and payment certificates.
• Prepare and evaluate subcontract agreements variations and final accounts.
• Monitor material consumption and labor productivity to control project costs.
• Identify prepare and negotiate variation orders VOs additional works and claims.
• Maintain records of contractual correspondence site instructions and commercial documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Managers Site Engineers Planning Engineers Procurement and Finance departments.
• Assist in Project Managers Site Engineers by preparing material quantity to raise MR.
• Monitor project progress and ensure commercial compliance with contract conditions.
• Assist in extension of time EOT claims and contractual dispute resolution.
• Prepare reconciliation statements for materials quantities and project costs.
• Prepare final accounts with clients and subcontractors upon project completion.
• Ensure compliance with company policies contractual obligations and statutory requirements.
• Maintain accurate commercial records for audit and future reference.
