Job Description

The Senior Project Engineer – Studies &Delivery supports the Technical Studies Lead in the execution and coordinationof COMPANY's project studies across the full Front-End Loading (FEL) lifecycle.The role is responsible for managing assigned study workstreams, coordinatingmulti-discipline technical inputs, maintaining study progress tracking systems,and ensuring consultant deliverables meet COMPANY's quality, governance, andschedule requirements.

Operating under the technical direction ofthe Technical Studies Lead, the Senior Project Engineer serves as a keyday-to-day interface with study consultants and specialist technical firms,resolves technical integration issues across disciplines, and prepares studydocumentation for gate reviews. The role contributes to the preparation ofinvestment-quality study outputs from Scoping through to Gate 3 FID.

Study WorkstreamExecution & Coordination

  • Manageand coordinate assigned study workstreams across all FEL phases — Scoping(G0–G1), Pre-Feasibility Study (G2), Definitive Feasibility Study (G3), andFEED — ensuring each workstream is delivered to agreed scope, schedule, andbudget under the direction of the Technical Studies Lead.
  • Prepareand maintain study workstream schedules, deliverable registers, action logs,and milestone trackers for each assigned study phase, providing regular statusupdates to the Technical Studies Lead.
  • Identifydeviations from approved study plans early and escalateto the Technical Studies Lead with proposed corrective actions.
  • Maintainthe study document register for assigned workstreams, ensuring version control,document traceability, and alignment with COMPANY's governance framework fromconcept through to Gate 3.
  • Coordinatethe collection, consolidation, and review of technical inputs from consultantsand internal COMPANY functions at each study milestone.
  • Applylessons learned from previous studies and projects to the design of studyscopes and management plans.
  • Serveas the day-to-day owner-side interface with assigned study consultants andspecialist technical firms on behalf of the Technical Studies Lead, ensuringdeliverable quality, schedule adherence, and alignment with COMPANY's terms ofreference.
  • Reviewand comment on consultant draft deliverables — including technical reports,study inputs, engineering calculations, cost estimates, and discipline outputs— providing structured, evidence-based feedback in accordance with COMPANY'squality standards.
  • Maintainconsultant deliverable registers and KPI tracking systems, monitoringconsultant progress, flagging performance issues, and reporting to theTechnical Studies Lead.
  • CoordinateRFI processes, technical queries, and clarification requests between COMPANYand study consultants, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Supportthe Technical Studies Lead in the procurement and onboarding of studyconsultants, including scope of work development, terms of referencepreparation, and technical bid evaluation support.
  • Ensureall consultant deliverables are archived systematically in COMPANY's documentmanagement system with appropriate version control and traceability.

Multi-DisciplineTechnical Integration

  • Coordinatemulti-discipline technical inputs across geology, mining, metallurgy, processengineering, infrastructure, utilities, and environmental disciplines forassigned study workstreams, identifying and resolving integration gaps andinconsistencies.
  • evaluationdocumentation as directed by the Technical Studies Lead.
  • Participatein value engineering workshops and contribute technical inputs, identifyingopportunities to reduce CAPEX, improve schedule, enhance operability, or reducetechnical risk.
  • Maintainvalue engineering registers, documenting findings, decision rationale, and thecarry-through of VE outcomes into subsequent study phases.
  • Supportthe preparation of trade-off study summaries and value engineering reports forpresentation by the Technical Studies Lead to the Director Studies &Delivery.

Study Controls& Reporting

  • Prepareregular study progress reports for the Technical Studies Lead coveringworkstream status, deliverable tracking, schedule performance, consultantperformance, and key risks.
  • Maintainthe study budget tracking register for assigned workstreams, monitoringconsultant fee expenditure against approved budgets and flagging variances tothe Technical Studies Lead.
  • Coordinatestudy risk registers, identifying, documenting, and monitoring study-phasetechnical and delivery risks, and escalating material risks with proposedmitigations.
  • Supportthe Technical Studies Lead in preparing study progress updates and gate reviewpresentations for internal stakeholders including the Director – Studies &Delivery and Project Controls team.
  • Prepareand maintain study cost estimate summaries, AACEI classification records, andcost basis documentation for each study phase.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining, Process,Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
  • PMP or equivalent project managementqualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experiencein mining or industrial project development, with demonstrated involvement inFEL study phases (Scoping, PFS, DFS or FEED) in an owner's team or EPCMenvironment.
  • Proven experience coordinatingmulti-discipline technical inputs across geology, mining, metallurgy, processengineering, and infrastructure disciplines in a study or engineeringenvironment.
  • Experience reviewing and commenting onconsultant technical deliverables, engineering reports, and study outputs,with demonstrated ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and technicaldeficiencies.
  • Familiarity with AACEI cost estimationclassifications (Class 1 through Class 5) and their application tostudy-phase cost estimates.
  • Working knowledge of JORC Code and NI43-101 reporting standards and their application in feasibility studydocumentation.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining studyschedules, deliverable registers, budget trackers, and risk registers in astructured project management environment.
  • Familiarity with Stage-Gate governanceframeworks and FEL lifecycle management principles in a mining or heavyindustrial project context.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare clear,well-structured technical reports, meeting minutes, action registers, andstudy progress summaries for senior management audiences.
  • Experience in the management ofmetallurgical testwork programmes and validation of process design criteriaagainst testwork outcomes is preferred.
  • Exposure to value engineering facilitationand technical-economic trade-off analysis across study phases is preferred.
  • Prior experience working on copper, gold,chromite or industrial mineral projects is an advantage.
