Position Overview
The ResourceReporting & Compliance Manager is a pivotal senior technical role within Exploration Planning and Reporting Division.The successful candidate will take full ownership of the integrity, accuracy,and regulatory compliance of all Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve estimatesacross multi-commodity project portfolio — from early-stage exploration throughto feasibility and operating mine stages.
The roledemands a credentialed Competent Person (CP) or Qualified Person (QP) with deepexpertise in multi-commodity resource estimation, international reporting codecompliance (JORC, NI 43-101, SAMREC), and the leadership capability to buildand manage a high-performing technical team. The incumbent will be a keytechnical interface between and its investors, joint venture partners, andgovernment stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Mineral Resource Estimation andModelling
- Lead thepreparation, peer review, and formal sign-off of Mineral Resource estimatesacross
- base and precious metal (Cu, Au, Ag, Zn, Pb,Cr) and multi-commodity projects.
- Directgeological domain, wireframe modelling, radiography, and grade interpolationusing industry-standard geo statistical methods (Ordinary Rigging, ID2/ID3, MIK,Uniform Conditioning, Simulation).
- Overseeblock model construction, grade capping/outlier analysis, resourceclassification (Inferred, Indicated, Measured), and formal model auditing.
- Manage pitshell optimization (Whittle / Lerchs-Grossmann) and cut-off grade analysis tounderpin RPEEE determinations for open pit and underground scenarios.
- Collaboratewith Mining Engineering on Ore Reserve conversion, reconciliation programs,and grade control model updates.
- Ensure allresource models are documented, version-controlled, and fit-for-purpose formine planning, feasibility studies, and investor reporting.
Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
- Act as, ordirectly supervise, the Competent Person (JORC 2012 / SAMREC) and QualifiedPerson (NI 43-101) for all disclosures of Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves.
- Prepareand review JORC Table 1 disclosures, NI 43-101 Technical Reports, andSAMREC-compliant reporting documents .
- Maintain acompany-wide compliance register tracking resource statement validity, andscheduled review dates.
- Monitoramendments to JORC, NI 43-101, SAMREC, and emerging codes , updating internal standards andtemplates accordingly.
- Supportdue diligence processes for project acquisitions, farm-ins, divestments, androyalty/streaming transactions.
- Coordinateindependent external resource audits and manage responses to auditor findings.
- Recruit,develop, and lead a team of resource geologists, geo statisticians, and databasespecialists within the Exploration Department .
- ChampionOmani national talent development through structured mentoring, on-the-jobtraining, and succession planning.
- Establishand enforce company-wide resource estimation guidelines, QA/QC protocols, anddata management standards.
- Implementand maintain best-practice drill hole database management systems and modelversion control.
- Conductinternal technical audits of resource estimates and data quality across theproject portfolio.
- Promote aculture of technical rigor, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharingwithin the geology and technicalservices function.
Stakeholder Engagement & ProjectSupport
- Presentresource updates, technical findings, and compliance status to the Senior Management and where it is required to the Board, Ministry ofEnergy and Minerals, and external investors.
- Act as theprimary technical interface with joint venture partners and internationalco-investors on resource and reserve matters.
- Prepareresource-related content for annual reports, investor presentations, JORC / NI 43-101 technical reports, and regulatory submissions.
- Supportthe evaluation of new project opportunities within Oman and abroad
- Contributeto ESG reporting by providing transparent, accurate resource depletion and minelife data where required or requested by subsidiary companies or JV partners.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor'sdegree or higher in Geology, Geo statistics, or a related geo science discipline.
- Minimum12–15 years of progressive experience in mineral resource estimation, with atleast 5 years in a senior, lead, or managerial capacity.
- Formallycredentialed Competent Person (CP) under JORC and/or SAMREC, and QualifiedPerson (QP) under NI 43-101, with a verifiable track record of signing offpublicly disclosed Mineral Resource statements.
- Demonstratedmulti-commodity experience covering precious metals (Au, Ag) and base metals(Cu, Zn, Pb); familiarity with poly metallic NSR-based reporting isadvantageous.
- Advancedproficiency in resource estimation software: Leapfrog Geo/Edge, Micro mine, orequivalent industry platforms.
- Expert-level geo statistical capability: experimental and modeled radiography, ringing (OK,SK, UK, IK), conditional simulation, and resource classification criteria.
- Provenexperience with pit shell optimization (Whittle, NPV Scheduler, Geovia) andopen pit / underground cut-off grade analysis.
- Thoroughknowledge of JORC 2012, NI 43-101, and SAMREC reporting requirements, andexperience preparing compliant technical documentation
- Strongleadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Postgraduatequalification (MSc or PhD) in Geo statistics, Economic Geology, or a closelyrelated discipline.
- Membershipof a recognized professional body: AusIMM (CP), AIG, SME (RM/RG), GSSA, orPGeo/P.Eng registration.
- Workingexperience in the Middle East, Arabian Peninsula, or MENA region; familiaritywith Oman's geological setting (politesse, VMS, snark, epidermal, cryogenicgold) is a distinct advantage.
- Experiencewith underground stop optimization tools (MSO / EWS) for narrow-vein ormassive sulfide deposits.
- Exposureto resource-related M&A due diligence, farm-in negotiations, or royaltytransaction support.
