Job summary

Experience seeks a senior mining and geology leader to drive exploration and development across its mineral assets in the GCC region, including Oman. The role requires a proven track record in mineral exploration, resource estimation, feasibility studies and project development.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage technical and commercial assessments, and engage with government authorities to shape exploration priorities and budgets to maximize asset value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Geology, Mining Engineering, Mineral Exploration or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead mining and exploration strategy for the organisation's mineral assets and new opportunities.
• Identify and evaluate mineral exploration and mining opportunities across geographies.
• Oversee geological exploration programs, resource estimation, drilling programs, modelling and feasibility studies.
• Drive exploration and development of Potash, Gold, Copper / Copper Sulphate, Phosphate and other assets.
• Evaluate mineral deposits from technical, commercial and geological perspectives.
• Lead technical due diligence for acquisition, investment and development of mining assets.
• Collaborate with geologists, mining engineers, consultants, government authorities and external partners.
• Monitor mine development, production potential, resource quality and project economics.
• Develop exploration budgets, timelines, technical reports and investment recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental requirements, permits and guidelines.
• Build and manage high-performing technical and exploration teams.
• Represent organisation in discussions with government authorities, mining partners, consultants and investors.
• Provide senior management with recommendations on assets, exploration priorities and viability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the mining and exploration strategy for the organisation's mineral assets and new opportunities.

Identify and evaluate potential mineral exploration and mining opportunities across relevant geographies.

Oversee geological exploration programs, resource estimation, drilling programs, geological modelling and feasibility studies.

Drive exploration and development of Potash, Gold, Copper / Copper Sulphate, Phosphate and other relevant mineral assets.

Evaluate mineral deposits from a technical, commercial and geological perspective.

Lead technical due diligence for acquisition, investment and development of mining assets.

Work closely with geologists, mining engineers, consultants, government authorities and external technical partners.

Monitor mine development, production potential, resource quality and project economics.

Develop exploration budgets, project timelines, technical reports and investment recommendations.

Ensure compliance with applicable mining regulations, environmental requirements, permits and statutory guidelines.

Build and manage high-performing technical and exploration teams.

Represent the organisation in discussions with government authorities, mining partners, consultants and investors.

Provide senior management with recommendations on mineral assets, exploration priorities and project viability.

Desired Candidate Profile

15+ years of overall experience in mining, mineral exploration and/or mining project development.

GCC experience is mandatory, preferably in Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia or other GCC markets.

Strong experience in mineral exploration and mining project development.

Hands-on exposure to one or more of the following is essential:

• Potash
• Gold
• Copper
• Phosphate

Strong geological / mining technical background with experience in resource evaluation, exploration programs and feasibility studies.

Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams and external consultants.

Strong understanding of mining economics, project evaluation and commercial aspects of mineral assets.

Experience dealing with government authorities, licensing bodies and regulatory stakeholders in GCC/Middle East markets will be highly preferred.

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Mineral Exploration or a related discipline.

Strong leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder management and communication skills.
