Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end vessel and marine operations across all ports in Oman.

• Ensure operations comply with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

Coverage: Entire Oman - All Ports

Reporting To: Country Manager / Managing Director

Salary: USD 7,000-8,000 per month

Preferred Qualification: Master Mariner

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Manager to oversee and manage the company’s complete vessel and marine operations across all ports in Oman. The role will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, compliant, and seamless marine operations while leading the operations team and coordinating closely with ports, terminals, vessel operators, vessel owners, and Head Office.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee end-to-end vessel and marine operations across all ports in Oman.
• Lead and manage the entire operations team across Oman, ensuring effective manpower planning and operational performance.
• Coordinate vessel operations, port calls, berthing, loading/unloading, turnaround, documentation, and related marine activities.
• Liaise with port authorities, terminal operators, vessel operators, vessel owners, agents, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain strong working relationships with Head Office, Country Management, clients, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all marine operations are conducted in accordance with applicable port regulations, maritime requirements, company policies, and safety standards.
• Monitor operational performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
• Handle operational issues, delays, emergencies, and escalations effectively.
• Ensure timely communication and coordination between vessels, ports, terminals, operations teams, and management.
• Monitor operational costs and support effective cost control across marine operations.
• Prepare and review operational reports, KPIs, performance updates, and management reports.
• Develop and implement operational procedures and continuously improve marine operations across Oman.
• Ensure the operations team maintains high standards of safety, compliance, service quality, and operational discipline.
• Represent the company in meetings and discussions with key maritime and port stakeholders.
• Support business continuity and operational planning for vessels calling at different ports across Oman.

Candidate Profile

• Master Mariner / Master (FG) qualification is highly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of shore-based experience in marine/vessel operations, preferably in a senior management capacity.
• Strong experience managing marine operations across multiple ports.
• Proven experience in managing and leading operations teams.
• Strong knowledge of port operations, vessel operations, marine procedures, and stakeholder management.
• Experience dealing with port authorities, terminals, vessel owners, vessel operators, and shipping stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple operations simultaneously across different locations.
• Strong understanding of maritime safety, compliance, and operational requirements.
• Willingness and ability to travel across Oman as required.
