Job summary

STRABAG seeks an experienced Estimation Engineer to join its tendering and estimation team, focusing on reviewing tender documents, performing quantity take-offs, and converting requirements into priceable BOQ items for infrastructure and road projects.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying background with 5+ years in UAE construction, and strong skills in Excel and estimation software to support bid strategy and cost optimization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
At least 5 years of UAE construction experience, emphasis on infrastructure/road projects.
Experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and tender preparation.
Proficiency in Excel and estimation software; ability to interpret drawings and contracts.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for infrastructure and road construction projects.
Convert tender requirements into clear, measurable, and priceable BOQ items.
Analyse project scope, identify risks and opportunities, and support bid strategy development.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and tendering teams during bid preparation.
Prepare technical and commercial cost breakdowns for management review.
Ensure compliance with client specifications, local regulations, and company procedures.
Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives during the tender stage.
