Job summary

STRABAG SE is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join our UAE-based team in Dubai. The role focuses on sourcing construction materials, evaluating quotations, and ensuring compliance with project specifications for ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects across the UAE.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, 5+ years’ procurement experience in the UAE, and strong knowledge of local suppliers and market rates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5+ years' procurement experience in UAE construction, infrastructure/road/highway/utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE suppliers, materials markets, and technical specification verification.
• Understanding of construction drawings and project requirements.
• Proficient in Excel, ERP, and procurement software.
• Valid UAE driving license preferred.
• Preferred: asphalt/bituminous materials, aggregates, road marking/safety products, drainage/utility materials, concrete/precast elements, geotextiles, reinforcement steel, pipes and fittings.
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
• Knowledge of UAE market rates and material specifications.
• Supplier/stakeholder management, cost control, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and services for infrastructure and road projects.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from UAE suppliers and subcontractors.
• Verify materials comply with project specifications, technical requirements, and client standards.
• Coordinate with project teams to understand procurement needs.
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and commercial terms for best value.
• Monitor market prices and stay updated on material cost trends.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships across the UAE.
• Issue purchase orders and monitor delivery performance for projects.
• Identify alternative suppliers/materials to support value engineering and cost control.
• Support tendering and estimation with current market pricing.
