Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Muscat is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our Food & Beverage team. You will support daily operations, ensure high service standards, and coach the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

In addition to strong leadership and knowledge of luxury F&B, you will manage staffing, training, and upselling opportunities while upholding the hotel's safety and quality guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Food & Beverage operations within a luxury hotel.
• Previous supervisory or assistant management experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of luxury Food & Beverage service standards.
• Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-management capabilities.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and manage costs.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day management of the assigned Food & Beverage operation, ensuring efficient and smooth service while maintaining Mandarin Oriental standards.
• Ensure team members have excellent knowledge of food and beverage offerings and can confidently communicate this knowledge to guests.
• Ensure colleagues report for and complete their shifts according to scheduled hours.
• Assist in managing staffing levels, colleague performance, and operational requirements in line with business needs and budgeted targets.
• Ensure tables, service stations, and operational areas are correctly arranged, prepared, and maintained.
• Ensure colleagues are familiar with correct billing and payment procedures.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in good working condition and colleagues are trained in its use.
• Conduct daily briefings and participate in relevant operational and departmental meetings.
• Attend and participate in training sessions organized by Mandarin Oriental.
• Ensure training materials, operational updates, and service standards are communicated to colleagues.
• Handle VIP guests and special requests according to Mandarin Oriental standards.
• Monitor quality and presentation of food and beverages and communicate standards to the team.
• Lead by example and promote Mandarin Oriental's philosophy, culture, and standards.
