Job summary

Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC, a five-star hotel inside the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, seeks a Commis 1 to support chefs with prep, cooking and plating. This entry-level role focuses on learning kitchen operations, culinary techniques and food safety while contributing to True Hospitality for Good.

You will work with the Chef de Partie, handle mise en place, assist in plating, maintain cleanliness, and follow all hygiene and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Culinary school diploma or certificate preferred but not mandatory for entry-level
• Basic English communication skills
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Attention to detail in recipes and plating

Responsibilities

• Assist Chef de Partie in ingredients, sauces and dishes prep.
• Perform basic cooking tasks under supervision.
• Maintain mise en place for service.
• Assist in plating and garnishing as directed.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and storage procedures.
