Responsibilities

JOB OVERVIEW

The Cafeteria Attendant is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the team member cafeteria, ensuring food and beverage service areas are clean, organized, well-stocked, and maintained according to the highest standards of hygiene and service. The role provides friendly and efficient service while supporting a positive dining experience for all team members.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the cafeteria service and dining areas before, during, and after meal periods.
• Assist with the setup, replenishment, and clearing of food and beverage stations.
• Ensure food, beverages, cutlery, crockery, trays, and other service items are available and properly arranged.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, chairs, counters, service stations, and surrounding areas.
• Clear used dishes, trays, and utensils promptly and transfer them to the designated washing areas.
• Monitor food and beverage stations and replenish items as required during service.
• Provide courteous and efficient service to team members using the cafeteria.
• Follow food hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure food is handled, displayed, and stored according to established hygiene and safety standards.
• Support portion control and minimize food waste in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Assist with receiving and organizing cafeteria supplies when required.
• Report shortages, equipment issues, maintenance requirements, or hygiene concerns to the supervisor.
• Follow proper waste segregation and disposal procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment.
• Support cleaning and closing procedures at the end of each meal period.
• Follow hotel policies, grooming standards, and health and safety procedures.
• Coordinate effectively with Culinary, Stewarding, and other relevant departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cafeteria, restaurant, hotel, catering operation, or similar food service environment is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Understanding of food handling and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts, as required by hotel operations.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and carrying service items.
