Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children invites applications for a Youth Justice Coordinator based in Gisborne. You will manage Family Group Conferences (FGCs) under the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989, working with tamariki and rangatahi, whānau and the wider community to address underlying causes of offending.

You will collaborate with victims, the police and the Youth Court to ensure accountability and uphold public and victim interests, using mana-enhancing restorative practice and linking community

Qualifications

• Experience in frontline delivery and ability to build strategic relationships.
• Strong facilitation skills and knowledge of FGC standards, legislation and practices.
• Proven experience working with youth aged between 12 to 18 years.
• Ability to self-direct and manage own workload, with clear report writing.
• Uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understanding of cross-cultural practices.
