Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children in Greater Wellington is seeking a Youth Justice Coordinator to manage Family Group Conferences under the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989. You will work with tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and the wider community to address underlying causes of offending and promote restorative practice.

Travel across the region may be required. Strong facilitation, cultural knowledge and report writing are essential; candidates with local networks and a commitment to wellbeing are

Qualifications

• Strong community youth networks and ability to connect with tamariki, rangatahi, whānau.
• Strong facilitation skills applying FGC standards and practices.
• Understanding of Youth Justice pathway or experience with tamariki/youth aged 14–18.
• Ability to self-direct and manage own workload with clear communication.
• Champion the Oranga Tamariki Māori Cultural Framework and Te Tiriti principles.
• Full, clean NZ driver licence; travel may be required.
• Knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures.
• Ability to work as part of a regional Youth Justice team.
