Job summary

CablePrice NZ Ltd. is seeking a motivated Yardperson for the Hastings Branch. The role involves cleaning machinery, preparing rental equipment, and assisting technicians. You will maintain the yard and support with HSE initiatives while taking on transport duties as needed.

Job description

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Yardperson to join our busy Hastings Branch. This is a varied role that plays a vital part in supporting our technicians, assisting with maintaining the cleanliness of our site, grooming machines and vehicles, and moving heavy vehicles from our site to customer locations (Class 4 or above driver's licence is preferable, or willingness to obtain one).

The successful candidate will be proactive, safety-focused, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. This position offers 32 hours per week, with additional overtime available as required, providing flexibility and opportunities for extra earnings. Forklift and Wheels endorsements can be provided and funded by CablePrice if you do not already hold them.

You'll be responsible for:

• Cleaning machinery and vehicles, including water blasting, and maintaining the yard and workshop to a high standard
• Pre-hire and de-hire of all rental equipment
• Greasing of all equipment
• Wash Bay management and cleanliness
• Transporting and delivering small plant and equipment to customers and job sites
• Assisting technicians with workshop activities and general operational support
• Assisting with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives and improvements
• Carrying out general site and yard maintenance duties

You will bring:

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skillsSound mechanical aptitude
• Sound experience with iPad and/or iPhone for rental duty requirements
