Job summary

Hynds Pipe Systems Limited in Palmerston North is seeking a versatile Yard & Customer Service professional who can switch between the front counter and the yard with equal ease. You’ll load stock, assist customers, manage orders, and ensure the yard is safe, tidy and well-stocked, while upholding service standards across civil, water, wastewater and drainage projects.

Qualifications

• Balanced ability to work at the front counter and in the yard.
• Full NZ Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence (F endorsement).
• People skills and practical stock handling know-how.
• Solid computer skills and attention to detail with stock.
• Good physical fitness to lift up to 20kg.
• Product knowledge in the civil/water industries is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Split your day between front counter and yard, staying switched on for both.
• Run the yard: stock control, picking orders, cycle counts, keep tidy.
• Operate forklift safely, daily checks and report defects.
• Load/unload trucks and help customers load up, by hand or forklift.
• Serve customers: quotes, orders, advice and on‑the‑spot queries.
• Keep paperwork: dockets, invoicing, receipting and inwards goods.
• Lead from the front on health & safety and secure the site at day's end.
