Job summary

Technopak is seeking an experienced Workshop Fitter in East Tāmaki to build high-hygiene packaging machinery. The role focuses on hands-on fabrication, assembly and troubleshooting of pneumatic systems, reading technical drawings and 3D models, and working from a build kit with weekly travel for site work.

You will train apprentices, share knowledge with teammates, and travel regionally and internationally when required. A post-trade fitting background and clean licence are essential.

Qualifications

  • Five years post-trade fitting experience.
  • Experience assembling industrial machinery or mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings and 3D models.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems and fault-finding.
  • Basic fabrication and machining skills.
  • Clean driver licence and current passport.
  • NZ citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Flexibility to travel NZ and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble machinery for high-hygiene applications.
  • Work from technical drawings and 3D models.
  • Build and fault-find pneumatic systems.
  • Perform basic fabrication and machining when required.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance and servicing.
