Job summary

Enterprise Recruitment is sourcing a skilled Mechanical Fitter for a Christchurch-based role with a Canterbury manufacturer. The successful candidate will join a team working on automated machinery and complex mechanical systems, handling assembly, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have strong fault-finding skills, the ability to read engineering drawings, and a track record of precise measurements and quality workmanship in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter.
• Experience with Robotics, Pneumatic & Hydraulic systems.
• Experience assembling and maintaining industrial machinery.

Mechanical Fitter

Our client designs and manufactures world-class food processing equipment, supplying to customers throughout New Zealand and internationally.

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their Christchurch team.

This role will suit a trade-qualified or highly experienced fitter who enjoys a varied workload. You'll be involved in the assembly, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of specialised machinery and automated equipment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical aptitude, fault-finding ability, and experience working with complex machinery in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter
• Experience working with:
  • Robotics
  • Pneumatic & Hydraulic systems
  • Bearings, gearboxes, drives, and mechanical assemblies
• Experience assembling and maintaining industrial machinery
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
• Ability to perform precision measurements and inspections
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
