Job summary

Consult Recruitment in Auckland is seeking a senior finance technology leader to drive major finance transformation programmes, from strategy through deployment. You will work with CFOs and senior stakeholders to translate finance objectives into scalable technology and operating models.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead major finance transformation and cloud ERP programmes from design through implementation and go-live.
• Take overall responsibility for the finance technology workstream across complex client engagements.
• Manage functional and module leads across multiple areas of the finance solution.
• Translate finance strategy and business objectives into practical technology and operating-model solutions.
• Lead executive-level workshops and help senior stakeholders evaluate design options and make key decisions.
• Provide direction across finance processes, accounting, reporting, controls, data and systems.
• Coordinate dependencies across design, data migration, integrations, security, testing and deployment.
• Manage project scope, delivery quality, programme risks, commercial considerations and senior stakeholder reporting.
• Provide design governance and quality assurance across the overall finance solution.
• Lead, coach and develop consultants within the wider transformation team.
• Support recruitment and development of specialist finance technology capability.
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations and business development activity.
• Help shape new service offerings, methodologies and reusable delivery assets.

The Opportunity

You will play a key leadership role across large and complex finance transformation programmes, working with senior client stakeholders from initial strategy and design through implementation and deployment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading major finance transformation and cloud ERP programmes from design through implementation and go-live
• Taking overall responsibility for the finance technology workstream across complex client engagements
• Managing functional and module leads across multiple areas of the finance solution
• Translating finance strategy and business objectives into practical technology and operating-model solutions
• Leading executive-level workshops and helping senior stakeholders evaluate design options and make key decisions
• Providing direction across finance processes, accounting, reporting, controls, data and systems
• Coordinating dependencies across functional design, data migration, integrations, security, testing, change management and deployment
• Managing project scope, delivery quality, programme risks, commercial considerations and senior stakeholder reporting
• Providing design governance and quality assurance across the overall finance solution
• Leading, coaching and developing consultants within the wider transformation team
• Supporting the recruitment and development of specialist finance technology capability
• Contributing to proposals, client presentations and business development activity
• Helping shape new service offerings, methodologies and reusable delivery assets

What We Are Looking For

We are interested in senior finance technology professionals with:

• Significant experience leading finance transformation or cloud ERP implementations
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Workday Financial Management
• Experience leading an end-to-end finance systems workstream or major transformation programme
• Experience managing functional or module leads across complex implementations
• Strong understanding of finance processes, financial controls, reporting and finance operating models
• The ability to translate finance requirements into scalable system and process designs
• Strong understanding of dependencies across finance systems, data, integrations, security, testing and change
• Experience working directly with CFOs, Finance Directors and other senior stakeholders
• Confidence facilitating senior stakeholder and executive-level workshops
• Strong consulting and client relationship management capability
• Experience managing delivery risks, governance, scope and quality
• Previous experience developing and mentoring consulting teams
• Experience supporting proposals, solution design or business development would be highly regarded
• Relevant Workday Financial Management certifications would be advantageous
