Job summary

Alignz Recruitment in Tauranga is seeking an experienced welder/fabricator to join local engineering teams. This role covers MIG/TIG welding, fabrication of mild steel, stainless, and aluminium, plus reading drawings through to finished components.

You will work on varied fabrication and engineering projects with long-term career potential, a strong focus on safety and workmanship, and will typically be offered competitive hourly rates based on experience.

Qualifications

• Proven welding and fabrication experience.
• TIG experience is highly regarded.
• Ability to confidently read engineering drawings.
• Experience with structural steel and/or stainless and aluminium.
• Good fabrication and fitting skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Reliable attitude and good work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Trade qualifications or welding tickets are advantageous, but strong hands-on experience is what we're really interested in.

Depending on your experience, your work may include MIG and TIG welding, mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium fabrication, structural steel fabrication, architectural and general engineering work, cutting, drilling, folding, rolling and fitting, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, fabricating components from drawings through to completion, assembly and installation work, one-off and small-batch fabrication, and maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
