Job summary

Solidfab Maintenance Limited in Tauranga is seeking an experienced fabricator/welder for varied workshop and site work across the Bay of Plenty. You will fabricate structural steel, conveyor components, platforms and access systems, and perform machinery repairs from drawings.

The role requires competence in MIG and stick welding, ability to read fabrication drawings, and safe, independent work on customer sites and in the workshop.

Qualifications

• Solid fabrication and fitting experience.
• Competent MIG and stick welder.
• Ability to read and understand engineering/fabrication drawings.
• Able to measure, mark out, fabricate and fit accurately.
• Comfortable working in both workshop and customer sites.
• Identify problems and provide practical solutions.
• Work independently without constant supervision.
• Hold a current NZ driver’s licence.

This is a varied position involving both workshop fabrication and site work throughout Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty. The work includes structural steel fabrication and installation, conveyor fabrication, installation and maintenance, platforms, stairs, handrails and access systems, machinery repairs and modifications, stainless steel and mild steel fabrication, general industrial maintenance, site breakdowns and repair work, welding, cutting, drilling and fitting, and reading and working from fabrication and engineering drawings.
