Qualifications

• 3+ years solid fabrication and welding experience.
• Confident TIG welding on stainless steel.
• Able to work independently and in a small team.
• Trade qualifications not essential.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on fabrication and welding focusing on stainless steel and TIG.
• Reading engineering drawings and performing cutting/folding.
• Maintain high workmanship standards in a busy workshop.

Fabricator Welder | Permanent | Rangiora, Canterbury

Monday–Friday (Occasional Saturday Overtime) | 6:30am–5:00pm | $30–$40/hr, depending on experience

A long-established, family-owned Canterbury engineering and manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Fabricator Welder to join their busy workshop.

About the business

A proudly local operation with a strong reputation in stainless steel fabrication, TIG and MIG welding, CNC machining, and foundry casting. They supply engineering solutions and manufactured products across a range of industries, both in New Zealand and overseas — varied, interesting work rather than the same job day in, day out.

About the role

Hands‑on fabrication and welding work, with a strong focus on stainless steel and TIG:

• TIG welding on stainless steel, where a clean, high-quality finish is the priority
• Purge welding
• Fabrication, assembly, cutting and folding
• Working from engineering drawings
• Taking pride in a high standard of workmanship

What we’re looking for

• 3+years of solid fabrication and welding experience
• Confident TIG welding on stainless steel
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
• Trade qualifications aren’t essential — we care more about what you can actually do
