Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a skilled Mig Welder to join our team in Auckland. You will read engineering drawings and blueprints, perform MIG welding on mild and stainless steel, and contribute to heavy plate and structural fabrication.

Safe use of workshop machinery and proper tool handling are essential to meet project deadlines with quality workmanship. Trade qualification is preferred, though strong on-the-job experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified is preferred, though solid on-the-job experience is valued.
• Minimum 2–3 years in welding/fabricating.
• Strong MIG/MMA welding capability; able to pass weld tests if required.
• Able to work independently or in a team.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mig Welder to join our team. Our team is built on skill, reliability, and pride in quality workmanship. Safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement are central to how we operate.

Key responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
• Heavy plate and structural steel fabrication
• MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel
• Operating workshop machinery, hand tools, and equipment safely
• Meeting project deadlines while ensuring high-quality workmanship

About you

• Trade-qualified is preferred, though solid on-the-job experience is highly valued
• Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar welding/fabricating role
• Strong welding capability (MIG/MMA) with the ability to pass weld tests if required
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transport
• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand (e.g., Citizen, Resident, or Open Work Visa)
