Job summary

New Zealand Red Cross is seeking a Channel Manager with responsibilities spanning supplier/ stakeholder relations, UX, accessibility, and digital integration. The role also acts as content lead, overseeing a community of around 50 content leads to keep content current, engaging, and best-practice driven.

You will also provide technical oversight for platform delivery and third-party integrations. You’ll lead digital transformation efforts, partner across IT, branding and marketing, and champion

  • Manage third-party vendors and hosting arrangements.
  • Oversee ongoing development of the website.
  • Drive a shared vision for web/digital integrating technology, brand and marketing.

Job description

The role is part channel manager (managing relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, leading our work around accessibility, user experience, and integration with other channels), part content lead (overseeing the management of content, working to train and support a community of cover 50 content leads, plan for the future and ensure content is current, effective and engaging) and part technical lead (managing the delivery of ongoing development, managing platforms, systems and process and working closely with IT and others on wider digital transformation).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Making sure web is an aligned and effective channel with content that is plain English, easy for users to understand and act on
  • Building, training and maintaining a community of around 50 content owners who can use best-practice, analytics and user feedback to ensure content is current and effective
  • Overseeing and supporting the creation, editing, and publishing of content including managing the CMS
  • Providing guidance and leadership that manages risk and helps deliver continuous improvement towards best practice in accessibility, privacy and security
  • Championing web/digital ideas and recommendations to senior leaders and decision makers including through monitoring and reporting on performance and analytics
  • Creating and maintaining documentation guides and processes
  • Providing technical oversight of third-party integrations including payments and data transfer (Sharepoint)
  • Managing third-party vendors and contracts including hosting arrangements
  • Oversee the ongoing development of the website
  • Driving a shared vision of ‘what good looks like’ for our web and digital presence including integrating thinking between technology, brand and marketing discipline s
