Job summary

Stantec in New Zealand is seeking a Contracts Manager for Hawke's Bay to oversee water, wastewater and stormwater project delivery through procurement and construction phases. You will manage scope, schedule, budgets and quality, coordinating with clients and subcontractors to deliver on time and to spec.

You will review tenders, prepare cost estimates and reports, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards. A technical qualification and NZ contract experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical tertiary qualification.
• 5 years' relevant professional experience including NZS39XX contracts.
• Solid cost estimating, tender preparation and report writing skills.
• Clear and consistent communication to build trust with peers and clients.
• Coordination/management of sub-contractors, site supervisors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater projects, including management of scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Undertake site inspections, field investigations, feasibility assessments and constructability reviews.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including cost estimates, tender documentation, contract administration records and project reports.
• Assist with tender evaluations and provide support during procurement and construction phases.
• Monitor project financial performance, including tracking, forecasting and reporting of construction activities.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, regulators and internal teams to support project outcomes.
• Identify and help resolve technical and project delivery issues, working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support and share knowledge with junior team members.
