Job summary

Stantec in Hawke's Bay, Hastings, is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead procurement and contract delivery across water projects. You will coordinate scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and support site inspections and tender processes.

You will build relationships with clients, regulators and contractors, oversee subcontractors, and mentor junior team members while complying with quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• NZS39XX contracts experience.
• Strong cost estimating, tender preparation and reporting skills.
• Clear and consistent communication to build trust with peers and clients.
• Ability to coordinate/manage sub-contractors, site supervisors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater projects including scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Undertake site inspections, field investigations and feasibility assessments to support delivery.
• Prepare and review project documentation, cost estimates, tender docs, contract records and reports.
• Assist with tender evaluations and procurement/ construction phase support.
• Monitor financial performance: tracking, forecasting and reporting of construction activities.
• Maintain relationships with clients, contractors, regulators and internal teams to drive project outcomes.
• Identify and resolve technical and delivery issues with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support junior team members' development and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure meetings, actions and records align with client requirements and project needs.
• Deliver work in line with QA, HSE and environmental standards and manage project risks.
