Job summary

Stantec in New Zealand is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead water industry projects in Hawke's Bay, Hastings. The role requires strong procurement, contract administration and cost-control expertise, with oversight of sub-contractors and field teams.

The successful candidate will coordinate scope, schedule and budget, perform risk assessments, and deliver compliant documentation. This position offers growth within a global sustainability-focused firm and a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5 years' relevant professional experience including NZS39XX contracts.
• Solid cost estimating, tender preparation and report writing skills.
• Clear and consistent communication to build trust and provide support to peers and clients.
• Coordination/management of sub-contractors, site supervisors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater projects, including management of scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Undertake site inspections, field investigations, feasibility assessments and constructability reviews to support project delivery.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including cost estimates, tender documentation, contract administration records and project reports.
• Assist with tender evaluations and provide support during procurement and construction phases.
• Monitor project financial performance, including tracking, forecasting and reporting of construction activities.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities and internal teams.
