Stantec’s Water team in New Zealand is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater projects across scopes, schedules, budgets and quality benchmarks. The role emphasizes engagement with clients, regulators and internal teams to drive successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring NZS39XX contract experience, strong cost estimation and tender skills, and a collaborative approach to managing subcontractors, site supervisors and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant professional experience including NZS39XX contracts.
• Solid cost estimating, tender preparation and report writing skills.
• Clear and consistent communication to build trust with peers and clients.
• Coordination/management of sub-contractors, site supervisors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater projects with scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Undertake site inspections, field investigations and constructability reviews.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including cost estimates, tender documentation, contract administration records and project reports.
• Assist with tender evaluations and provide support during procurement and construction phases.
• Monitor project financial performance, including tracking, forecasting and reporting of construction activities.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, regulators, project stakeholders and internal teams.
• Identify and resolve technical and project delivery issues in collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support junior team members in their professional development.
• Ensure project meetings, actions, records and documentation meet client requirements and company standards.
• Deliver work in accordance with quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.
