Stantec in New Zealand is seeking a Contracts Manager to join our Water team in Hastings. You will lead procurement and contract administration for water, wastewater and stormwater projects, from tendering through construction, while safeguarding schedule, budget and quality.

With a technical qualification and at least five years' NZ contract experience, you will coordinate subcontractors, support client relationships, and mentor junior colleagues, in a flexible, safety-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant professional experience including NZS39XX contracts.
• Strong cost estimating, tender preparation and report writing skills.
• Clear and consistent communication to build trust with peers and clients.
• Coordination/management of sub-contractors, site supervisors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage water, wastewater and stormwater projects from scope to delivery, including schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Undertake site inspections, feasibility assessments and constructability reviews to support delivery.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including cost estimates, tender documents and contract records.
• Assist with tender evaluations and support procurement and construction phases.
• Monitor financial performance with tracking, forecasting and reporting of construction activities.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, regulators and internal teams.
• Support and mentor junior team members in their development.
• Ensure meetings, actions, and project records meet client and project requirements.
