Job summary

Stantec in New Zealand’s Water team seeks a Contracts Manager to lead procurement and manage the delivery of water projects in Hastings. You will coordinate scope, schedule, budget and risk; undertake site inspections and feasibility studies; prepare tender documents; and monitor financial performance.

A relevant technical qualification and 5 years’ NZS39XX experience are expected, with strong communication and subcontractor management skills essential to success.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical tertiary qualification.
• 5 years' relevant professional experience including NZS39XX contracts.
• Solid cost estimating, tender preparation and report writing skills.
• Clear and consistent communication to build trust with peers and clients.
• Coordination/management of sub-contractors, site supervisors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the delivery of water projects, including scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Undertake site inspections and feasibility assessments to support delivery.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including costs, tender docs and reports.
• Assist with tender evaluations and procurement during construction phases.
• Monitor project financial performance and report on construction activities.
• Maintain relationships with clients, contractors, regulators and internal teams.
• Identify and resolve technical and delivery issues with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support junior team members and share knowledge.
• Ensure meetings and records comply with client requirements and QHSE standards.
