Job summary

Open Country Dairy Ltd is seeking a reliable Warehouse Operator for the day shift at the Ice Cream operation in East Tamaki, Auckland. You will handle receipts, picking, dispatch, and stock movements while prioritising food safety and safe work practices in a busy warehouse environment.

You will work as part of a supportive team, using a forklift and RF scanning to keep products moving accurately and on time, including handling cold environments and manual handling tasks.

Qualifications

NZ Creameries are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Warehouse Operator to join the day shift team at Ice Cream in East Tamaki.

About The Role

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys practical hands-on work, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will be part of a supportive team that helps keep product moving safely, efficiently, and on time. You will support day-to-day warehouse operations by moving, receipting, picking, dispatching, and recording product accurately while following food safety, hygiene, and health and safety requirement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Receive, move, store, pick, and dispatch finished goods, transferred products, purchased products, and imported goods.
• Operate forklifts to load, unload, stack, relocate, and marshal product.
• Complete RF scanning, warehouse transactions and documentation to support accurate stock records.
• Support production supply and assist with stock takes, cycle counts, procedure reviews, and other warehouse tasks as needed.

About you

You will be dependable, practical, and safety focussed, with the confidence to work accurately in a busy warehouse environment. You will take pride in doing the job right the first time, communicate well with the team, and be comfortable working in cold environments, completing manual handling, and meeting daily cut-offs and priorities.

To be successful, you will bring

• A current forklift licence and general warehousing experience, ideally in a similar industry.
• Safe forklift operation, product handling, and awareness of hazards.
• Warehouse receipting, dispatch, stock movement, RF Scanning, and accurate record keeping.
• Reliability, accountability, good time management, and a positive team-focussed approach.

It would be an advantage if you also have

• Basic computer skills.
• Basic maths, recording, and written communication skills.
• Experience in operating a RF Scanner.
