Job summary

NZ Creameries in East Tamaki, Auckland, seeks a practical Warehouse Assistant Manager to coordinate daily activities, support stock accuracy and ensure production materials are available when needed. This hands-on role involves safe, accurate warehouse performance and providing direction to the team.

You will operate in a cold-store environment, oversee receipting, storage, dispatch, and inventory control, and work with the production team to meet schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehousing, stores or distribution, ideally within food manufacturing or another regulated environment.
• Current forklift licence, or ability to obtain and maintain one if required.
• Understanding receipting, stock movement, dispatch and inventory accuracy.
• Organised, practical approach with a strong focus on safety, quality, teamwork and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipting, scanning, labelling, storage, movement and put-away.
• Pick, check, load and supply materials to production.
• Prepare domestic and export orders for dispatch, including documentation and product handling.
• Maintain stock accuracy through system updates, stock checks, location control and discrepancy follow-up.
• Maintain high standards across health and safety, hygiene, housekeeping, cold-store control and product integrity.
• Coach and direct warehouse team members, escalating issues when needed.
